SUMMARY:Dragonfly Mercury Project: Katie's Landing Sample Event
DESCRIPTION:Come out to our Katie’s landing sample event\, become a hands-on DMP community scientist! \nSee this video for more details! \nEvery year we sample four sites around the Wekiva River System for juvenile dragonfly called nymphs or larvae. This year we will be sampling five sites: Lake Norris (complete!)\, Wekiva Falls\, Camp Joy\, Wekiwa Springs Run\, and Katie’s Landing. \nWant to be prepared for this event? Check out this video on how to ID dragonfly nymphs to family\, the DMP webpage\, or download the DMP sampling guide here. \nThe Dragonfly Mercury Project engages community scientists such as students and teachers in the collection of juvenile dragonflies\, also known as dragonfly larvae\, from national parks for mercury analysis. \nWading is possible at this sample site. Please feel free to bring a canoe\, kayak\, or SUP if you wish to paddle out to dip-net during this event.
