SUMMARY:Dragonfly Mercury Project: Wekiwa Springs Run
DESCRIPTION:Join our Wekiwa Springs Run sample event and help collect data that will inform our community on local mercury levels. \n\nSee this video for more details! \nEvery year we sample four sites around the Wekiva River System for juvenile dragonfly called nymphs or larvae. This year we will be sampling five sites: Lake Norris (complete!)\, Wekiva Falls\, Camp Joy\, Wekiwa Springs Run\, and Katie’s Landing. \nWant to be prepared for this event? Check out this video on how to ID dragonfly nymphs to family\, the DMP webpage\, or download the DMP sampling guide here. \nThe Dragonfly Mercury Project engages community scientists such as students and teachers in the collection of juvenile dragonflies\, also known as dragonfly larvae\, from national parks for mercury analysis. \n\nPlease note that due to the nature of this sample\, it is not easy for participants to leave early.
